Position Summary
**SAFETY SENSITIVE POSITION**
Laundry personnel are responsible for keeping residents clothing and
linens clean and washed. This service includes washing, drying,
ironing, folding and storing.
Essential Job Duties
- Complete daily laundry for residents as scheduled including
washing, drying, ironing, folding and storing.
- Must track residents clothing and linens to ensure all property is
returned to the resident in a timely manner.
- Transport laundry using wheeled carts; keeping storage areas,
laundry areas and carts clean and tidy.
- Inventory laundry supply needs and report to supervisor when
supplies need to be re-ordered.
- Observe precautions required to protect residents’ and guests’
property, and report damage, theft, and found articles to Administration.
- Communicates and interacts effectively and tactfully with the
residents, visitors, families, peers and supervisors promoting a
homelike environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education diploma (GED) is preferred.
- Must meet all healthcare requirements, including Tuberculosis skin test
- Must be in positive standing with all healthcare agencies,
including the Employment Clearance Registry and Adult Maltreatment Registry
Physical Demands:
This position may require constant standing/walking and repetitive
motions, frequent bending/stooping, reaching, lifting/handling,
pushing/pulling and occasional carrying. Weights may vary up to 50
pounds and the frequency of treatments may vary.
