Position Summary
The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) assists the Director of
Nursing with planning, organizing and directing the day-to-day
functions of the nursing services department.
Essential Job Duties
- SAFETY SENSITIVE POSITION.
- Become well-versed in the Facility’s compliance with all aspects
of Assisted Living II Rules and Regulations. Assists the DON in the
design and implementation procedures and programs that ensure
regulation compliance.
- Must be able to demonstrate the ability to effectively assist the
DON in the direction, leading and developing the Fox Ridge nursing
team, including the ability to assist in performing employee
coaching’s, counseling’s, evaluations, and maintaining a high level
of accountability for all nursing employees.
- Assists the DON with job orientation and in-service training to
employees that are focused on the developmental, behavioral and
health needs of the residents.
- Assists the DON to ensuring appropriate review, interpretation and
analysis of records and reports. Assists in the development of plans
of correction and operational plans, as they relate to the operation
of the program.
- Provide reports/recommendations as needed/required for the
Director of Nursing concerning the operations of Nursing Services.
- Maintain documentation systems for continuity of care and record
storage that assures compliance with local, state and federal
regulations and Fox Ridge policies and procedures. Assures all forms
and records are completed in timely manner.
- Assists in the planning, developing and implementing procedures
and policies that enhance the quality of life for people receiving
services and assures procedures that support people managing their
own health care.
- In the absence of the DON, the Assistant DON will provide
leadership to assure compliance with local, state and federal
regulations and nursing practice standards.
- Must have a clear understanding of needs, desires and culture of
Fox Ridge resident population.
- Assists with the management of other employees and is responsible
for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of these employees.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or
technical school
- One year LPN experience required
- Six months supervisory experience preferred
Physical Demands
This position may require frequent standing/walking,
bending/stooping, lifting/handling, pushing/pulling and occasional
carrying. Weights may vary from 70 to 300 pounds and the frequency of
treatments may vary from resident to resident. Occasionally the feet
and legs are used in the motion to release and lock brakes of
wheelchairs and beds.
